Back Home

Been home 2 weeks now since my month long adventure to Canada & Colorado for Crankworx & it's been good. The batteries are recharging, sleeping in my own bed, getting on the road bike, eating some proper Mexican food, hanging out with my friends, just back into my local program.

A few days ago I did the local Over The Hump series cross country race, which was tough. I battled with local fast haunch Brandon Gritters for the first 3 laps. We got away half way into lap 1 and exchanged pulls for the next 2 1/2 laps. The start of the 4th and final lap had a tricky sand section & Brandon made a mistake which instantly put him about 5-10 bike lengths behind. My plan wasn't to go that far out from the finish line, but I decided right then to up the pace a bit and see if I could be out there for the 14min or so by myself until the finish line. As I climbed up the last hill, which was about 2 min before the finish I looked back to see Brandon only 10-15sec back. Luckily I had a little extra left in the tank and pinned it to the line to take the win.

Yesterday I did a podcast with Dale Holmes and Tony D on www.daleholmes.com That was fun talking with some old friends about the old school days. Dale has always had a great site and is a great personality for bmx, so I looked forward to having him put me in front of the current bmx community. Everyone can listen to the cast at daleholmes.com and soon enough I'll be doing the same on my site with podcasts every week, talking with some interesting people in the industry.

MTB season is almost over and before we know it Eurobike and Interbike will be upon us, so figuring out the schedule for the last month of MTB racing, then it will be time to get some tires glued up for the coming cyclocross season.
