I've been to Garda a few times in the past 10 years, but this was my first visit to Garda for the festival. My new wheel, bar, & stem sponsor, EDGE composites asked me to come over, meet the distributors, do some rides, take some photos, so remembering how nice a place it was in the past I had no problems agreeing to make the trip.
Luckily the weather has been good so far and I've got to do some photo shoots, so pedaling and a big shuttle with Hans, Richie, Holger, and some journalists yesterday. The riding here I wouldn't say is the best, but if you like it rough, this is the place to come. It is very rocky, very little dirt, and not much in the way of flow. What you will get is some arm pump and a check on whether you fillings are secure. Garda does have some beautiful scenery, great places to eat, a nice lake, and plenty of other outdoor activities, so tourism is high here, especially by the Germans.
It's been a good trip spending some time with the Edge crew and also with the Italian and German Ibis distributors who are so happy with the new HD mojo, but just can't enough to sell. And of course being in Italy there is plenty of Marzocchi employees here and I have to thank them for the new Lopes poster they produced.
Tomorrow afternoon it is off to Lugano, Switzerland with Marco Toniolo to shoot for the next few days. Also looking forward to having my good friend Alex Hoffman come hang out with me and to do some riding with.
Soon enough I will have some more exciting news to share so check back soon...
