Saturday I did a 2.5 mile TT about 10 miles south of where I live. The promotor is a friend and this was the first year he was adding the leg breaking TT. It was a short one, but about 1/2 way through the course was a 18% grade climb that was about 200-250meters long. I went with a stock ibis silk road bike equipped with some new Edge composite wheels, basically because that is all I had, but I did have a Hincapie skinsuit and a Lazer aero helmet. My run was pretty good, conserving all I could for that climb without leaving too much left in the tank. In the end I guess I maybe did leave a little much left as I came through the line @ 5minutes 20 seconds, less than a second off first place. Good thing the guy who beat me was my friend MJ or loosing by that much would have hurt more.
That was the 35+ 1, 2, 3's class that I placed second in. The winning pro time was 24 seconds faster than mine, but he was also 6 seconds faster than the 2nd fastest pro time. Not bad and I was pretty happy with my result.
Next week is the Otter, back to the dirt races..
