Dana Pt. Grand Prix

This past Sunday Dana Pt. hosted a big road race which attracted hundreds of racers and spectators. Roger Worthington was the MC and main man behind the event and did it first class, from the beer gardens, to the restrooms, to multiple rock bands, VIP section, killer race course, great prizes and money for the pros, etc. It was a great event and I was happy to be apart of some of the show.

Roger had asked me to show up so he could interview me as a local pro to the cycling community, but when I saw where the event was being held, I offered up a cool jump that I could do for the crowd at the nearby park. It's about a 35-40ft step down over a bike path. No lip, no ramp, just pedal as fast as you can and bunnyhop. That's all that gets you to the landing about 15ft below.

The jump went well and everyone was stoked. I used my gopro helmet cam and will try to get that on the site soon.

I wanted to do the road race as well but was having a few back issues that day and decided not to push it, but next year I am looking forward to mixing it up in the road race as well.
