Whistler A-line

Yesterday was the Jim Bean Air DH and I was going for my 3rd win in a row. I was getting all kinds of shit from Marc Beamont, Greg Minnar, and some others on how slow I was through the 10 seconds worth of trees on the course, so I was giving them all shit on how they were not staying low enough on all the jumps. We were all joking around, having a good time talking shit.

I knew Minnar would probably be the toughest one, although there were a lot of world class riders in this event. Minnar has been killing it this year and he did great last year, so I figured he would be tough.

My medium MOJO was set up with a new marzocchi 55 air fork and a ROCO coil shock in the rear. I had a Kenda Blue Groove in the front and a cut Small Block 8 in the rear. The bike felt good and so did I. My run was pretty smooth, only making a few little errors which didn't cost me much time. I felt really strong in all the pedaling sections and was happy taking the hot seat from Chris Kovaric when I came through the finish. I was 5.5 seconds faster than Chris so I knew I had a good time, but Greg was still to come. Greg crossed the line, I waited for his time to come up, and then I put my arms in the air. I had pulled off my 3rd win in a row over some pretty fast guys.

Today was mostly spent hanging out. Went to the lake for some relaxing and did a few runs on the giant slalom course which is not too much fun. Tomorrows the race, so we will report on that tomorrow.
