Leapin Lizard
A little over a week ago I did my first race on my new Ibis here in Laguna. What could be the oldest running DH race in the world (25 years), the Laguna Rads held the Leapin Lizard which is an underground race that is only for members, regular riders on wed. nights, and guest of those.
So I built up the 5.5 inch MOJO with a Marzocchi 66 and some new Kenda EL Moco 2.35 tires the day before and took the win. The race consists of two runs and part of the tradition is that everyone must hike back up the hill for both runs. The race had about 50 competitors and everyone had a great time, especially after it was all over and the Bar B Q started. A good work out, a fun race, great food.... all in Laguna Beach, what better way could you spend a Saturday? Forgot to mention the most perfect dirt conditions every...perfect loam!!!
