After World Champs

Spent a couple days at the Peat's house after worlds. Probably the first time in my life I have been in England when the weather was great. Did a little XC ride with Steve and Paula one day right from Peaty's house, which was fun. You would know why Peaty is so good at the wet roots if you have ever had a chance to ride around his house. I was just happy it was dry, because seemed like I we did was ride over roots.

One night we went out on the quads and picked up a few logs for Adele to put on the neighbor Tim's property. Tim's wife and Adele both have horses and they have started to put obstacles out in the field to jump over. Well these two logs that she wanted us to get were no small chore. They each probably weighed 500lbs, so after some broken rope, raming of the logs with the quads, and some techniques we learned from watching the strong man competitions, 2 hours later we finally had the logs transfered from about 500 meters away to the field where the girls wanted them.

We are all in Slovenia now for the WC finals. Weather is good, courses are good and its hard to believe that the season is over. It does seem like it has been a long year, but at the same point I just added my 15th season of MTB racing to my belt.

Qualifying is today for the 4x. The course has got to be the longest yet and it has a bit of everything. Even some root sections. Pretty fun course to ride, so we will just have to see how it races.

Speaking of that, there was a meeting last night to discuss some of the issues that have come up about 4x. Are the courses getting better, what can we do to get more of the DH guys to start racing it again, how can we get more participants... Dual Slalom was brought up? Is dual slalom more mountain bike related or is 4x? What is more exciting? Will more people race if it was changed to Dual Slalom? HHMMM!!! Maybe that is the next poll question.
