Whistler Biker Cross
The Biker Cross was tonight in the pouring rain. It has not stopped raining in the last 3 or 4 days here, so it is pretty bad. Suppose to get another day of rain tomorrow and then Monday it will begin to get better.
The Biker Cross in Whistler has never really attracted a big rider turn out and this year was even worse, which could be the end to Biker Cross in Whistler. I think we had 10 guys in the Pro mens class which is sad.
Qualifying went well with only 4 practice runs under me I took the first spot, with Cedric 2nd and Andrew Neetling 3rd.
We only had 2 groups, which meant make it out of the first round and you are in the final. Well, I was leading my first race until I got a flat going into turn one. Andrew Neetling and Marosi went on to face CG and a local in the final. CG took the win from wire to wire. Andrew got 3rd, but should of had 2nd after he passed Marosi in the last turn but couldn't jump a double after he came unclipped.
Jill won the chicks class.
The dual slalom is happening for the first time ever up here next week and the course looks really fun. I have not got a chance to ride it yet and hopefully they will be able to get all the water off it and get the turns packed, because it could be a good one. I heard that they have over 100 entrees for the DS. We will see how it goes, but my prediction is that Biker Cross will not happen next year and the DS will be the gated race that everyone looks forward too.
