cortina, italy

Left Cortina, Italy yesterday where we spent a few days at the Marzocchi 2008 product launch. Good to see all the 08 product looking even better with every category being covered. Sure you will all see the new product soon.

Thomas Vanderham and I scouted out a ski jump a few days ago and went back to hit the small one. The olympic size jump is HUGE, but after a little work on the run up and jump, we were soon soaring about 80ft down the hill. Super fun after you do it once or twice.

In Switzerland now for the second World Cup. Woke up yesterday at 5am so I could make practice yesterday after a 8 hour drive. What a disappointment!!! You travel around the world to race the World Cup, suppose to be the most Elite racing in the world, but far from it. Similar to the course in Vigo, Spain where the upper half is rough and suppose to be "more mtb like", and the bottom is more bmx like. Well, again the upper half is stupid. First turn is dangerous and not good. After that it is single file. No place for passing. Then you get to the second half of the course which is pretty flat with jumps made of asphalt. Some of the corners are actually half loose gravel that leads you onto asphalt making for little traction.

The course is a good length and the second half could provide a passing opportunity, but overall it is not much fun.
