Italy
Sorry it has been a while since my last update, but I have not had internet in a while. After WC #1 in Spain I went with Cedric and his mechanic Seb to Portugal for a few days of DHing along with a bunch of other riders who made the trip for some training before Lisbon Downtown. It was a good few days of hanging out and riding. Good old SpainAir still couldn't find my lost bag.
From there it was on to Lisbon. The course was a bit different than the last time I was there 3 years ago. CG & I choose to ride our short travel bikes while the rest of the field opted for the full DH bike. Maybe we made the wrong choice as I was 10th & CG 11th. We were not much off the pace, only just over 2 seconds out of second place which was Rennie, but Peaty killed it again.
Next stop was Isreal to do some filming with Cedric and Wayne Goss for New World 8. Nothing like I expected it to be there. We went to the Red Sea, the Dead Sea, and everywhere in between. Hot as hell the entire time there and we got to see some cool stuff, but the riding was not too good. A lot of driving and not much riding. Oh well, that is what happends when you are looking for new places to film.
Now I am in Italy. Just spent the last 4 days at a friends house in Tuscany. Pretty cool here for road riding and relaxing. Tomorrow I am heading to Mugello to watch the Moto GP. My friend Alex Hoffman races moto GP and we have been planning to come watch him race since the end of last year, so I am really looking forward to being right there. I will have a full update on this after I experience it. Should be the experience of a lifetime. Alex has got us full paddock passes and we are sleeping in his motorhome because I guess there are so many people trying to get in on sunday morning that you have to be there by 7am or you will miss the race. Sounds just like a mtb race...ha!
