In Memory of Rick Beswick

Yesterday I attended the services for my friend and lawyer Rick Beswick. He was a great guy, heavily involved in cycling and always there to support me when I needed him and his legal services. We would hang out at functions together, do a road ride here and there, do dinner when either he or I were in the other persons town.

Unfortunately he passed away a little over a week ago from a massive heart attack.

Troy Lee, Mike King, and Hans Rey were some other industry icons that were also friends with Rick.

I am glad that Rick and his wife Carole got to come to the last Jeep KOM race in Beaver Creek this year to watch me win. They have a house in Vail and were there in 1994 when I won the Dual Slalom World Championships and also in 2001 when I won the Dual Worlds in Vail. They just happend to be in Vail when we had the Jeep race this year, so they came up to watch. That was my last time I got see and hang out with this cool man. We went to dinner the night before the race, and then they came to spectate the next day for the race.

He will be forever missed, but always remembered.
RIP 1941-2006 Rick Beswick
