moto adventure
Yesterday I finally got to ride my new crf450x enduro bike. I bought it this summer up in Berkely because they registered it for me, but I never got the blinkers and all the goodies on it until now. A few of my friends have enduro bikes also and these guys do some epic adventures, so yesterday I got to experience all the unknown areas of Southern California.
We took off around 10:30am from San Clemente and after about 20-30 minutes of pavement, we were in the dirt. Fire roads, single track, creek crossings, etc. and about 3 hours later we were back on the road in Da Luz, a long ways from home. We had lunch there before filling up with gas and heading up the 15 to Lake Elsinore. There we got back in the dirt and basically took the dirt all the way back home. The last hour was in the dark and by this time we were tired, so it was a bit sketchy.
It is hard to believe how much you can explore on a enduro bike and how much good riding there is around here. The problem is very few ever get to go where we were and hopefully no one ever will. There were some sections that were very technical and thank god for that electric start and all that torque of a 450. It saved me many of times.
When it was all said and done we had ridden 154 miles and at least 100 of them were in the dirt.
Check out a few photos and ponder the thought of where we may be, because you will probably never know.
